In the accordance with new world trends concerning treatment with plantderived medicines, the Management of Production Projects established factory for medicinal plants in 1994. The factory studies the properties, benefits. And uses of medicinal plants and processes them in the form of medical herbs, under the supervision of a high consultation committee which includes an elite of the greatest professors in Syrian universities. The number of items produced amounts to 37 compound and simple mixtures, packaged in paper sachets with cellophane inside small boxes of big benefit and delicious tastes. The product of our factory enjoy wide reputation locally and in internationally, and have won three international awards: 1) The club of foodstuffs Producers in Europe, Germany, 1996. 2) Quality Award Florida, U.S.A. 3) Quality Award , Spain ,1997. This factory is considered one of the most modern in the Middle East. The medicinal plants factory is the second one within the same framework, the first one being Zallou’honey factory established in 1993, which processes and packages the Zallou’honey made from: the exact of “Ferula Harmonics” roots (3-4%) royal jelly (2-5%) depending on the medical requirement) and 100% natural honey. In order for the management of the plants factory to reach the international level it has seriously and laboriously achieved the most famous qualifications procedures over one year , in cooperation with Arabian Quality Makers. During the process the trainees received from the Management good qualification in specialized courses. This effort was crowned with the recommendation of the British Standards Institution (BSI) for quality Certification ISO 9002 after the final assessment procedures.
